Thomas is one of Britain’s most widely admired musicians. The excellence of his musicianship is reflected internationally in his musical partnerships. He won the Royal Philharmonic Society award for Best Instrumentalist in 2002, was named International Performer of 2012 by the American Guild of Organists and in 2016 was awarded the Medal of the Royal College of Organists for his achievements in organ-playing.
Today’s programme includes Bach’s Concerto Op 1 no 6, Franck’s Prelude, Fugue et Variation and Gardner’s Five Dances: Lavolte; Pavin; Jig; Lament; Fling. As part of the Royal celebration Thomas will be playing Binge’s Elizabethan Serenade (arr. Trotter) and Coates’ Princess Elizabeth March.
