Last Night of the Welsh Proms

WNO Orchestra
Euphonium: David Childs
Conductor: Owain Arwel Hughes CBE

Join Owain Arwel Hughes CBE, leading euphonium player David Childs and the wonderful WNO Orchestra for one of the truly great dates in Cardiff’s annual concert diary.

We complete Owain Arwel Hughes’ 80th birthday celebrations with a selection of beloved classics from Gershwin’s Girl Crazy, Tchaikovsky’s evocative Swan Lake and Dr Chris Wood’s Aberfan, to the world première performance of Vaughan Williams’ Concerto for Tenor Tuba.

Also featured are Monti’s Czardas, Sir Karl Jenkins’ Benedictus from The Armed Man and of course Elgar’s Pomp & Circumstance No 1, all building up to the usual crescendo of the ‘Last Night’ sing-along favourites.

The entertainment doesn’t stop there as we welcome back The Keith Little Hotshots, playing pre-concert, during the interval and post-concert on Level 3.

Bring your flags, balloons and singing voices and join in the celebrations that bring the 2022 Welsh Proms to a rousing conclusion!
