Jazz Prom

Capital City Jazz Orchestra
With special guest vocalist Joe Stilgoe

Cardiff’s very own Capital City Jazz Orchestra return to the Welsh Proms accompanied by the very special vocal talents of the wonderful Joe Stilgoe.

The band were originally formed in 2007 and brought together the city’s finest musical talents. They continue to go from strength to strength, regularly working with great jazz artists, appearing at Brecon and Swansea International Jazz Festivals and performing annually at the Welsh Proms.

This year they are joined by internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter, Joe Stilgoe - a modern day all-round entertainer who has toured around the world with his band and as a solo act, appearing everywhere from Ronnie Scotts to Birdland with every festival and jazz club in between.

Joe will be performing tracks from his latest album, ‘Theatre’ along with classics from the Big Band Repertoire.

Joe’s biography:
Joe Stilgoe is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter - a modern day all-round entertainer who has toured around the world with his band and as a solo act, appearing everywhere from Ronnie Scotts to Birdland with every festival and jazz club in between.

Joe is known for writing songs that feel like they’ve been around for years, as well as adapting classics that make them sound as fresh as if they'd just been written. He oozes wit, style and panache.

Always searching for new ways of bringing out not only his own songs, but also those he loves from the past to a new audience.
