The Keith Little Hotshots
This powerful and entertaining six-piece Swing Band is led by Keith on piano and features the very talented Gethin Liddington on trumpet, who has travelled widely playing at famous venues such as the famous Ronnie Scotts Club in London. Kevin Grenfell on trombone with a superb melodic style and a great sense of swing. Jeremy Huggett, on clarinet and sax - his fiery and passionate playing adding an exciting extra element. The rock steady time-keeping of Greg Evans on drums and inspirational soloing from Ashley Long on string bass complete the line-up.
The Keith Little Hotshots are a new band evolving from the Keith Little Band that has performed many times at the Last Night of the Proms. The musicians are all professional with Gethin, Jeremy and Kevin all running their own bands. Keith, now living in South Wales, has a long professional jazz career that started with many years touring Europe in a five-piece swing and jump band. Later, he stayed in Stuttgart in Germany playing free-lance, also guesting with visiting American musicians (Benny Waters, Jean Connors, Warren Vache, Peanuts Hucko etc.) He was then invited to join the eight-piece Allotria Jazzband from Munich and played with them for four years, touring the United States and Canada many times, before returning to Britain to start his own band.
Inspired by the swing music of Benny Goodman, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and the like, the varied repertoire of this lively Band also includes vocals and hot Jump and Jive numbers after the styles of Louis Jordan and Louis Prima.
