Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and producer Ólafur Arnalds brings his stunning soundscapes to the Hall in support of his incredible new album re:member.
Ólafur melds strings and piano with loops and beats crossing over from ambient and electronic to pop. The virtuoso talent first came to prominence with hardcore and metal bands Fighting Shit and Celestine before forming the techno project Kiasmos with Janus Rasmussen from Icelandic electro-pop band Bloodgroup.
Yet, Ólafur soon branched out to establish a successful solo career where he further honed his experimental approach to his work. His fourth solo album, re:member is his most remarkable and beautiful composition yet; brimming with the music he hears to accompany his own mental movies.
Ólafur said: “This is my breaking out-of-a-shell album. This is me taking the raw influences that I have from all these different musical genres and not filtering them. I always have my hands in many different projects at once, and I feel that this album represents that.”
