Paul Carr is a freelance musician based in Birmingham. He is a graduate of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and was awarded Honorary Membership in 2015.

Paul performs many organ concerts across the UK and has performed in Germany and France, including two organ recitals at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. In the USA he has performed solo recitals in Chicago, Washington DC and New York. As a choral accompanist and soloist Paul has toured with choirs to France, Germany, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, and the USA.

For more than twenty years Paul has given monthly organ recitals in the Midlands. Before the COVID-19 Pandemic he had played 198 recitals in the Sunday Afternoon Organ Music series at Holy Trinity Wordsley on the first Sunday of every month at 3pm. Since August last year a 20-minute video recital has been presented online until such times as the series can resume in person. Similarly, Paul has worked with Professor David Saint, Director of Music at St Chad’s Cathedral, Birmingham to present the monthly Thursday Live recital series there on YouTube, where individual videos of the pieces performed in these recitals can still be accessed via the Thursday Live Organ Recitals YouTube channel.

Paul is Musician in Residence at Holy Trinity Wordsley; Artistic Director to the Thursday Live organ recital series at St Chad’s Cathedral; Director of The St Ignatius Singers; Organist to St Bartholomew’s Parish Church Penn, Musical Director of Selly Park Singers and is regular accompanist for Dudley Performing Arts.

Paul is a Past President of Birmingham Organists’ Association and is currently the Vice-Chair of Worcestershire Organists’ Association. He is also a committee member of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Association.
