Laura recently completed her Master’s in Orchestral Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, generously supported by Help Musicians UK and the EMI Sound Foundation. She studied with Rob Plane and Tim Lines, and completed her Bachelor’s degree there with First Class Honours in 2017.
Laura won the RWCMD Ian Stoutzker Prize for the most outstanding musician at the college with her performance of Weber’s Concertino in 2018 and she was named winner of the Howarth Single Reed Prize the same year. A keen orchestral player, Laura has played with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, the English Symphony Orchestra, the British Sinfonietta and the New Generation Festival Orchestra. She has appeared at Dartington International Music Festival, the Hellensmusic Festival playing with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Milford Haven Festival with her duo partner, Sioned Evans.
Laura made her London debut at St Martin in-the-Fields as lunchtime soloist in February 2019, and she was the soloist with the RWCMD Symphony Orchestra in Mark Anthony Turnage’s Riffs and Refrains at St David’s Hall in June 2019.
