From Prague to Reykjavik…
Fifteen World Class Concerts

Whether your taste is for classical, choral or contemporary, this year’s International Concert Series is sure to have something for you. With visiting orchestras and ensembles from the European Union, Moscow, Prague and Reykjavik, together with some of today’s most distinguished soloists, we’re certain you’ll want to join us for some or even all of the concerts on offer.

INTERNATIONAL SOLOISTS

A top-class line up of soloists includes pianists Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Peter Donohoe, Steven Osborne and Llŷr Williams, cellists Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Daniel Müller-Schott, violinists Nicola Benedetti, Sayaka Shoji and Tasmin Little, guitarist Craig Ogden and horn player Benjamin Goldscheider.

INTERNATIONAL CONCERT SERIES CONCERT BUS
International Concert Series Concert Bus Return Journey Only £5! 

Do you love classical music, but have difficulty accessing transport services to experience live orchestral concerts at St David’s Hall? 

For just £5, you can now sit back and relax on a return bus journey provided by the venue and arrive in time for the pre-concert talk at 6.30pm!

We will be running the service for the following 2 concerts.

Monday 18th May 2020 – Aurora with Nicola Benedetti
Saturday 6th June 2020 – RLPO with Sheku Kanneh-Mason

The International Concert Series Concert Bus is a trial scheme and if successful, we aim to provide a service for several future International Concert Series performances with additional routes added according to demand. For this trial service, the following pick-up / drop-off points are times are available:

To book your seat on the International Concert Series Concert Bus, please call our Box Office on 029 2087 8444 or book online by 'upgrading your experience' 
after selecting your seat, and adding it to the basket. 

This service is only available to International Concert Series Concert ticket holders, and coach places must be booked 24hrs before the performance date. 

Plus, as a little thank you for being one of the first to catch our International Concert Series Concert Bus, your bus ticket entitles you to a free ice cream during the interval. 

Leave the transport to us, and make friends with other classical music fans before experiencing the thrill of the International Concert Series at St David’s Hall!

Pre-Concert Talks (FREE)
One hour before each of our concerts we have a 30-minute insight into the music and the context to the performance. These popular events are accessible and informative and a great way to get more from your
concert experience.

Classical Roadmap Talks (FREE but ticketed)
With fun live illustrations on piano and with guest musicians and a potpouri of audio excerpts, these light-hearted presentations will help you join the dots in classical music history and introduce you to a whole new world of listening. Suitable for the complete novice and seasoned concert-goers.

YOUNG ARTISTS SHOWCASE (FREE)
Before each International Concert Series performance, we will be hosting young performers on the Level 3 day stage of St David’s Hall from the region’s music schools. These performances last for a maximum of 25 minutes and aim to offer young artists the opportunity to showcase their skills and expand their profile as a musician. This is a fantastic opportunity for these young people who are at the start of their musical
journey and it offers them the chance to experience the work of some of the world’s most prestigious performers and conductors.
