Join your very own BBC National Orchestra of Wales, our principal conductor and a stellar cast of soloists, and allow your soul to take flight in Elgar’s most personal and celebrated choral masterpiece.

Elgar was always fascinated by John Henry Newman’s poem depicting the journey of Gerontius from his deathbed to his judgement before God. And joining the Orchestra to play multiple roles in the story – as angels, friends, souls in purgatory, and even demons – are the BBC National Chorus of Wales, performing for the first time with Principal Conductor, Ryan Bancroft, alongside the RWCMD College Chorus.
