 Ryan Bancroft  Conductor
 Jess Gillam  Saxophone
 BBC National Orchestra of Wales
 Debussy  Jeux
Sir Karl Jenkins  Stavaganza (world premiere)
Ives  Central Park in the Dark
 Copland  Appalachian Spring

A programme that delights in dance and young romance, with a new work by Karl for the brilliant saxophonist and musical evangelist, Jess Gillam.

Conductor Ryan Bancroft comments how rooted so much of this extraordinary music is in the everyday, such as ‘a game of tennis, partners ambling home late, a young couple getting married’. This is music that transforms the familiar into the fantastical with a blend of dance and theatre. Jess Gillam brings her inimitable energy and advocacy to Karl Jenkins’ new work for saxophone and orchestra - a must for any Welsh musical calendar!
