September at St David's Hall

September at St David's Hall

AFTER our quieter month in August, our action-packed programme is back in full flow throughout September at St David’s Hall!

The summer holidays may be over for another year, but we’ve got plenty to keep you entertained as the darker nights draw in.

September starts in style with a pair of terrific tributes to iconic artists. Some Guys Have All the Luck (Thurs 5 Sept) follows Rod Stewart’s incredible story from street busker to international superstar, whilst the Hall is transformed into sunny California for the Ultimate Eagles (Fri 6 Sept). Later in the month, Hello Again (Fri 20 Sept) celebrates 50 years of the legendary Neil Diamond, but there’s only very limited availability for What’s Love Got to Do With It? (Fri 13 Sept) - which is Simply the Best Tina Turner tribute!

HOZIER – Wasteland, Baby!
Tuesday 17 September 2019, 7.30pm
SOLD OUT (check with Box Office for late seat releases)

Another huge name in the music world is Hozier (Tues 17 Sept), but his Wasteland, Baby! tour-date sold out long ago. Likewise, 80s icon Belinda Carlisle (Mon 30 Sept) is fast approaching a full house as she marks 30 years of her classic album Runaway Horses.

Saturday 28 September 2019, 8pm

Tickets for our superb stand-up shows are also selling like hot cakes! Very few seats are left for comedy legend Frank Skinner (Sat 28 Sept) in Showbiz, whilst an extra date has been added in the New Year due to overwhelming demand for Scouse comic and social media phenomenon Paul Smith (Sat 14 Sept & Fri 10 Jan). Plus, Brydon, Mack & Mitchell (Mon 23 - Weds 25 Sept) are completely sold out for all three nights. As ever, keep a close eye on our website and social media, and check with the Box Office for any late seat releases!

Monday 23, Tuesday 24 & Wednesday 25 September 2019, 8pm
SOLD OUT (check with Box Office for late seat releases)

If you’re looking for a magical night with the whole family, look no further than Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone (Thurs 19 Sept) as the Czech National Symphony Orchestra provide an awe-inspiring accompaniment to the movie with John Williams’ sensational score. The kids will also love Ben Phillips (Fri 27 Sept) as the sibling rivalry continues with his brother Elliot, and there are few seats left for Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity (Sun 22 Sept) on their Born Ready 10th anniversary tour with two spectacular shows on the same day. Another show featuring inspiring youngsters is the It’s My Shout Premiere & Awards Night 2019 (Sun 8 Sept) as Wales’ best emerging talent of filmmakers are presented in a stellar showcase event.

DIVERSITY – Born Ready
Sunday 22 September 2019, 2pm & 7.30pm

Yet if you’re after something a bit more relaxing, there’s two fantastic folk concerts. Roots Unearthed resumes with one of the world’s finest fingerstyle guitarists Martin Simpson (Tues 10 Sept). And following the staggering success of their biopic film, Fisherman’s Friends (Sat 21 Sept) return to the live stage with Keep Hauling. Plus, don’t miss a spellbinding Lunchtime Concert from Cardiff organist Jeffrey Howard (Tues 10 Sept) - the perfect way to break up your day!
