Peter Hewitt’s Lockdown Performance of Beethoven
Revered pianist Peter Hewitt is back with another beautiful Beethoven instalment, and this week it’s the second movement from the 28th Piano Sonata.
Peter said: “It's a concise little piece full of intricacies, much counterpoint and lots of energy. With the late piano sonatas, Beethoven invites us into a wonderful and completely unique harmonic world which influenced so many of the later Romantic composers. I do hope that you all enjoy this piece.”

Virtuoso pianist Peter Hewitt had been scheduled to perform a Lunchtime Concert at St David’s Hall on Tuesday 26 May with acclaimed violinist Peter Fisher.
Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation but Peter Hewitt has kindly sent us a lockdown performance of this wonderful little minuet movement by Beethoven (Sonata Op 14 No 1 in E Second Movement).

"Hewitt's extraordinarily perceptive qualities and deeply sensitive soul are so well suited to this music…inspiring!” John Lill CBE
"The most impressive aspect of Peter Hewitt's artistry is that at no time does he get in the way of the music – this is Beethoven speaking directly to us. Hewitt's technique is flawless.”
