Peter Hewitt’s Lockdown Performance of Beethoven
Virtuoso pianist Peter Hewitt had been scheduled to perform a Lunchtime Concert at St David’s Hall on Tuesday 26 May with acclaimed violinist Peter Fisher.
Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation but Peter Hewitt has kindly sent us a lockdown performance of this wonderful little minuet movement by Beethoven (Sonata Op 14 No 1 in E Second Movement).
Peter Hewitt is a masterful musician, who has attracted great critical acclaim for his exceptional performances, which combine a flawless technique with intense natural musicality and a searching intellect.
"Great attention to detail and devotion to the music. Hewitt is very musical – it touched me."
"Hewitt's extraordinarily perceptive qualities and deeply sensitive soul are so well suited to this music…inspiring!”
John Lill CBE
"The most impressive aspect of Peter Hewitt's artistry is that at no time does he get in the way of the music –
this is Beethoven speaking directly to us. Hewitt's technique is flawless.”
