'A giant of the flamenco guitar tradition.’ The Times
‘Juan Martin reminded us of the power and beauty of flamenco pure and simple.’ The Independent
A native of Andalucia, Juan Martin is a spectacular flamenco guitarist, twice voted one of the world’s top three exponents by Guitar Player magazine and noted for his rare instinctive musicianship. His sound, whilst lively in timbre, also has a richness, clarity and depth of tone honed from playing in the world’s greatest concert halls including Wigmore, Carnegie and Barbican, and many international festivals. He has recorded 20 albums, mostly as a composer, creating contemporary music that respects the great tradition. Juan was the first and only flamenco guitarist to make a record with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and has played with greats like Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock.
