Concert No 11
(in subscription package)

Gwasgwch yma i ddarllen y wybodaeth yn Gymraeg / Press here to read this info in Welsh.

Conductor   Stamatia Karampini & Maxim Vengerov
 Soloist  Maxim Vengerov, Violin
J Strauss  Overture, Die Fledermaus  9'
Bruch  Violin Concerto No 1  24'
 Saint-Saëns   Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso  10'
Tchaikovsky   Symphony No 6 Pathétique  46'

Sparkling tunes infuse Strauss’s much loved operatic Overture, while Max Bruch’s evergreen First Violin Concerto is a Romantic showpiece celebrated for its nobility and romantic fervour. Musical fireworks colour Saint-Saëns’s showcase for the violin but, darker emotions underpin Tchaikovsky’s final symphony. His farewell to the form completed just a few weeks before his death in 1893 brings together some of his most memorable music, both brooding and barnstorming.
