JS Bach's Goldberg Variations Highly acclaimed as a Bach interpreter, Angela Hewitt makes a welcome return to perform one of the composer’s monumental keyboard works. Named after the harpsichordist Johann Gottlied Goldberg and written supposedly for his insomniac master, the Goldberg Variations represents Bach at the peak of his powers. From a single bass theme, a set of brilliant variations unfold, breathtaking in their resourcefulness and emotional reach.
