Dr John Cooper Clarke - Luckiest Man Alive Tour
Plus Special Guest - Simon Day
Sunday 2 December, 7.00pm
Doors open at 7pm
Iconic punk poet, Dr John Cooper Clarke shot to fame in the 1970s due to his quick-fire, dry, biting and hilarious satirical verse. Known for his tousled hair and sharp suits, Clarke even toured at the height of punk with the likes of The Sex Pistols and The Clash.
His trademark delivery and uproarious live shows have established Clarke with a firm cult following thanks to classics like (I Married A) Monster from Outer Space, Evidently Chickentown and Kung-Fu International – all read scattergun-style from his beloved battered notebooks.
In recent years, he’s collaborated with Arctic Monkeys, Reverend and the Makers, Plan B and Inspiral Carpets. He’s even voiced a poem for McCain about his love of chips, and his poetry has formed part of the GCSE syllabus!
John will be joined by acclaimed comedian Simon Day as special guest, who will be performing as Yorkshire poet Geoffrey Allerton.
