Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique 50'
Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique is surely the most passionate and public love-letter ever written. Inspired by the English actress Harriet Smithson, Berlioz hired a huge orchestra and made his dedication before the whole of Paris. The same youthful passion can be heard in Bruch's First Violin Concerto, a jewel of romantic violin music, played here by Alina Pogostkina, one of the most sought after young soloists, playing under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy.
